AKALI is a non-profit organization that dedicates itself to the development and advancement of youth nutrition across the world. Founded in 2007, the focus of AKALI is to allow any child in the world to have an adequate food. "Teach the children in industrialized countries to eat better to give food to the children in developing countries" such is AKALI philosophy. The word "AKALI" means « let us eat together » in a West African dialect (DIDA) in Ivory Coast country. AKALI initiative is unique among existing youth nutrition efforts in its focus on programs and activities for youth audiences as a primary group concerned.

• AKALI Children Workshops
  

  Focused on three important behaviours (improved nutritional choices, increased physical activity and learn to cook healthy food), these workshops are the dreamed occasion to introduce, in a playful way, our children in a good nutrition habits.
  

  
   

 

• Theme Meals
  

  Organized each monthly, these theme meals are the occasion for our children to show their culinary knowledge but especially to talk to the guests about the benefactions of having healthy habits.
  

 

 

 

• Adults Workshops
  

  We won't be able to achieve our purposes without an active participation of the parents and primary caregivers.Theses workshops are set up to provide some advices, to learn how to cook healthy for the whole family at low cost and to discuss about the way to help our children getting better eating habits at home and at school.
  

  
   

  
   

  
   

• Schools Lunch Animations
  

  AKALI must be able to get in touch with most of the children and not only those coming in the Children Workshops. AKALI will initiate free nutrition animations at lunch times, to every primary school of the area and that, anytime the request will be made and at no additional cost.
  

    

 

OVERSEAS

 

 

We believe that the best overseas actions should be made through local agencies as they have a better knowledge of the environment and the daily population needs. AKALI will play a financial role by helping qualified nonprofit organizations to achieve the nutritional projects they submit. AKALI is a young nonprofit organization. Its financial capacity is limited and doesn't allow it, for the moment, to go on projects over $500. AKALI has the hope that in a near future, its capacities will increase and so allow strengthening its interventions.
